Electrical Technician

Your team will rely on you to assist in integrating and testing programs on production machines, troubleshoot on-site and support any existing equipment, have a thorough understanding of operator and service manuals as well as understanding and assisting with electrical panel wiring, machine wiring & machine plumbing. Collaborating directly with our automation & manufacturing team, your role in the company’s development will be highly valuable.
Job Responsibilities
- Assisting with start-up & troubleshooting of existing machinery
- Create or modify AutoCAD Electrical prints for Industrial machines
- Assisting with Electrical panel wiring, field wiring & machine plumbing
- Performing machine maintenance regularly & upgrades if necessary
- Assisting with PLC Programming & Troubleshooting
- Assisting with automation integration to existing machinery
- Onsite troubleshooting and support on existing equipment is required
- Assisting with troubleshooting and fixing any minor electrical issues on-site as needed
- Assisting with creation and maintenance of documentation
Qualifications
- Basic Electrical Degree/Diploma or Certified Electrician
- Experience in programming skills using Omron, Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi PLC, and HMI is an asset
- PLC and HMI Programming experience is an asset
- Robot programming is an asset
- Experience in the Packaging industry/Assembly lines/Food industry is an asset
- Experience in AutoCad/EPLAN or any Electrical Schematic editing software
- Electrical Panel Building & Field wiring experience is a must
- Knowledge of CSA standards for Industrial machines
- 2-5 years of Industry experience with panel building & field wiring
- Knowledge of basic electrical components & electricians tool set
- An analytical thinker with an eye for detail
- Ability to use MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Proven control systems troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of electrical control systems for automated machinery
- Experience within any automated environment is an asset
